Property Management

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Property Management, the Assistant Property Manager is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations including HUD Section 202/​8 compliance and procedures, filling vacancies as needed, collecting monthly rent, and maintaining the property according to the Property Management Operations Manual set forth by RCAP Solutions, Inc. and HUD requirements.​


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with leasing apartments, recertification, interim certifications, move-ins, and move-outs.
  • Maintain waiting list database, filing system, and assist with monthly property management reports.
  • Prepare work orders for completion by maintenance staff.
  • Assists Property Manager with collection of monthly rent & processing deposits.
  • Maintain resident files in a neat and orderly manner and complete in accordance with company policies and those of any regulatory agency involved.
  • Assists Property Manager with annual and interim unit inspections, as well as property grounds and building walkthroughs.
  • Attend certification classes, seminars and workshops.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Deputy Director of Property Management.

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree preferred, high school degree or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year experience in Property Management, preferably in affordable housing or minimum two years’ experience in an administrative setting.
  • Current Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS); Assistant Housing Manager (AHM) or attainment within 12 months of hire.
  • Knowledge and experience with HUD Occupancy and Compliance regulations and other affordable housing rules and regulations preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, experienced with Microsoft Office 365 required.
  • Excellent customer service skills with patient and compassionate approach to working with seniors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
