Synergy Spotlight: Meet Daisy Kranwinkel, MRVP Representative

Meet Daisy Kranwinkel, a member of our Subsidized Housing & Rental Assistance team who has grown into an important role within the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP). Daisy joined RCAP Solutions in July 2022 as a temporary employee and quickly stood out for her work ethic and willingness to learn. With support from her supervisors, she moved into the MRVP department at RCAP Solutions, where she now helps oversee the program and supports the individuals and families it serves.

As an MRVP Representative, Daisy manages a caseload of both mobile and project-based vouchers. Her work includes determining eligibility for new applicants, reviewing certifications, and calculating rental portions for households already in the program. It’s detailed work that requires consistency and care, especially when working within state guidelines.

Daisy’s interest in this work started early. As a teenager, she was already involved in community efforts, including organizing donation drives for Abby’s House. At 19, she interned with Bottom Line, helping first-generation, low-income students apply to college and navigate financial aid. Afterward, she held roles at Cumberland Farms and a local restaurant, where she built strong organizational and customer service skills.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her co-workers at the restaurant helped prepare and deliver meals to families in need and individuals experiencing homelessness. These experiences helped shape her approach to working with people and supporting her community.

Having grown up in subsidized housing herself, Daisy brings a personal perspective to the role. She understands the challenges many families face and values the opportunity to give back to the Worcester community where she was raised.

One of the projects she is most proud of is the MRVP team’s work leasing up approximately 100 households into project-based units this past year, including 29 units dedicated to individuals experiencing homelessness. She also works closely on the Stable Start program, which supports individuals transitioning out of incarceration and helps connect them to housing.

Daisy works closely with a small team and describes that collaboration as a key part of her experience. She relies on her co-workers and supervisors to help ensure the program runs smoothly and that participants receive consistent support.

She notes that the work can be difficult at times, especially when rules and limitations mean not everyone can be helped. Still, she stays focused on doing what she can each day and approaches every situation with patience and understanding.

For Daisy, the goal is simple: help as many people as possible each day so even more can be helped tomorrow.

When asked to share a few words about Daisy, Susie Rich, Deputy Director of Rental Assistance, referenced a quote by Bosa Sebele: “There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.”

Daisy’s contributions were highlighted by Sally Nieves, Director of Rental Assistance, who said, “Since taking over the MRVP, Daisy has transformed its operations. Under her leadership, this program is running more efficiently and effectively than ever before. Her deep understanding of the work, combined with her commitment to serving our participants, has elevated the program’s overall performance. Daisy is compassionate, understanding, and genuinely caring – qualities that make her not only a pleasure to work with but also an invaluable support to clients and colleagues. She approaches every challenge with patience, empathy, and a solutions‑focused mindset. Daisy truly deserves to be acknowledged for her exceptional professionalism and her remarkable contributions to our team.”
